Story Behind the Art:

• This NOVICA Handmade Reverse Painted Glass Tray Floral Heaven is the result of years of dedication and passion for art by Peruvian artisan Asunta Pelaez. From childhood, Asunta attended all the drawing and painting classes at school and spent many hours there, honing her skills. After losing her parents at a young age, she went to Lima to study accounting and met her husband who introduced her to the traditional Andean art form of reverse painted glass. With her meticulous process and attention to detail, Asunta shapes the wood and paints the motifs by hand on the reverse side of glass panes, creating stunning designs inspired by nature and typical scenes from her town and region. Her work has been recognized by Novica and has brought about a great change in her life, both economically and personally.
