The patterns on the handles are created by melting wax on the white bone and then dipping the handles in dark dye. The dye adheres to the un-waxed areas, creating unique and varying patterns. Occasionally treat the wood with a food-safe oil such as olive oil, and the set should last a lifetime. Set includes a fork, a scoop and a spreader. Handmade in Africa.
